The indicator draws energy from the motor stray field. A battery is therefore not required. It consists of a rotatable red-white disc which is located behind a transparent plastic cap. If it is held near an alternating current field, the disc starts to rotate in the same direction as the motor so that the pump’s direction of rotation can be determined. If the disc starts to turn, this means that the pump motor is in operation.
