Servicing Case Study
Bloxwich Active Living Centre relies on a series of Grundfos circulator pumps to keep its water systems running efficiently. When one pump developed a leaking mechanical seal, others triggered alarm signals, and another became noticeably noisy, the centre needed a fast, reliable response to avoid downtime and disruption.
Our Approach
Trebles’ service engineers carried out a full inspection of the plantroom equipment, addressing each issue systematically:
Faulty Seal
One circulator pump with a leaking mechanical seal was identified and replaced, restoring reliable operation.
Alarm Checks
Units showing alarm lights were thoroughly checked and tested to confirm there were no underlying issues, giving the client confidence that the equipment was safe to run.
Noisy Pump Investigation
A noisy circulator pump was found to be cavitating due to a heavily clogged strainer restricting water flow. The team cleaned and replaced the strainer, ensuring proper flow to the system. To prevent further damage, the noisy pump was removed and replaced with a blanking plate. This allowed Trebles’ engineers to return the pump to the service department for a detailed inspection. Early indications suggested possible wear ring and bearing damage, but full confirmation would come from a complete strip-down and assessment.
The Outcome
By acting quickly and methodically, Trebles ensured that the Leisure Centre’s water systems remained operational with minimal disruption.
The plantroom now runs more reliably, with issues resolved before they could escalate into larger failures. This proactive approach not only fixed immediate problems but also gave the client peace of mind that their equipment is in safe hands, supported by Trebles’ technical expertise and responsive service team.
On-site Imagery
The job involved diagnosing the fault, sourcing the right replacement components, and carrying out on-site repairs with minimal downtime. By completing the work quickly and efficiently, we ensured the leisure centre could continue to provide a safe and reliable environment for its visitors.
This project highlights our commitment to fast response times, expert knowledge of pump systems, and delivering practical solutions that keep essential facilities running smoothly.
