Celebrating 60 Years of Trebles

Celebrating 60 Years
of Trebles

This year marks a significant milestone for Trebles as the company celebrates 60 years in business, reflecting on a proud history built on technical expertise, strong customer relationships and a commitment to helping customers solve problems.

Founded in 1966 by George Treble, his sons David and Tony Treble, and business partner Walter Lefevre, the business began with a simple but effective philosophy: provide customers with the right products, backed by genuine technical knowledge and dependable service.

That approach quickly established G M Treble Ltd as a respected name within the pump industry and laid the foundations for what would become one of the UK’s leading independent pump specialists.

In 1972, the business moved to its current headquarters on New Street in Wolverhampton, a site that remains at the heart of Trebles’ operations today. From there, the company continued to grow, building a reputation not only for product availability but also for the depth of technical expertise available to customers.

Throughout the industry, David and Tony Treble became recognised as highly respected figures, earning a reputation as industry legends whose knowledge and experience helped shape countless projects over the years. Their dedication to customer service and technical support helped establish many of the values that continue to define the business today.

As the company expanded, Trebles strengthened its presence through strategic growth. The Derby branch became part of the business after the acquisition of a long-standing industry partner in 1996, creating a satellite operation that further enhanced support for customers across the region.

A major milestone in the company’s history came in 2009, when Stuart Herritty, Nigel Marriott and Mike Raybould completed a management buyout, enabling the original owners to retire while ensuring continuity for both employees and customers.

Following this buyout, the business entered a new phase of development, with a focus on supporting future growth. This evolution allowed Trebles to build on its strong foundations while continuing to deliver the technical expertise and customer service that customers had relied on for decades.

Further growth followed with the opening of the Uxbridge branch in 2017, extending the company’s reach and reinforcing its commitment to serving customers nationwide.

In 2021, the business formally rebranded from G M Treble Ltd to Trebles, reflecting a modernised identity that better aligned with the company’s position as a nationwide supplier, while maintaining the heritage and reputation built since 1966.

Recent years have also seen important changes in the company’s leadership. Mike Raybould retired from the business in 2022, followed by Nigel Marriott in 2024. As part of the continued evolution of the business, Stuart Herritty moved into the role of Chairman. Jane Davis was appointed Financial Director in 2024, followed by Hannah Sabel becoming Managing Director in 2025.

These appointments represent the next stage of Trebles’ journey, ensuring the business continues to build on its heritage while remaining focused on future growth, innovation and customer support.

Today, the company combines decades of technical knowledge with modern infrastructure, extensive stockholding and a comprehensive range of services supporting customers throughout the UK.

One area in which Trebles continues to stand apart is stock availability. With approximately £4 million of stock held across the business, customers can benefit from rapid access to products when they need them most, reducing delays and helping projects stay on track.

Alongside product availability, technical expertise remains one of the company’s greatest strengths. The ability to provide practical advice, engineering knowledge and real-world solutions continues to be a key reason why customers have trusted Trebles for six decades.

Reflecting on the anniversary, the company sees the milestone as an opportunity not only to celebrate its history but also to thank the customers, suppliers and employees who have contributed to its success over the years.

“The thing I’m most proud of is that the business has never lost sight of helping customers solve their problems,” said Stuart Herritty. “Whilst the industry, technology and the business itself have evolved significantly over the last 60 years, that commitment remains the same today.”

As Trebles celebrates its 60th anniversary, the focus remains firmly on the future. By continuing to invest in people, systems, stock availability and technical expertise, the company is well-positioned to support customers for many years to come.
