Flygt – Discharge Column

PUMP STATION DESIGN WITH DISCHARGE COLUMN PIPE

Flygt submersible pump types PL and LL are supported inside the discharge column pipe in the pump sump.

The column pipe components give flexibility for matching many different pump station layouts:

• The column pipe can be made of steel and hang down into the sump. It can also be cast into the concrete structure.
• Flygt Formed Suction Inlet combines good water inflow into propeller pumps with small sump dimensions.
• The discharge can come through an open top or a flanged side outlet.
• Optional water tight cover for pressurized discharge.

The Flygt discharge components are engineered to handle the static and dynamic loads of the pump and the moving water. The bottom flange supports the pump inside the pipe, and prevents it from rotating with a positive anti-rotation device. The O-ring at the bottom of the pump assures tightness. For good pump system efficiency, the column size closely matches the Flygt PL pump size.
