Double mechanical seal in one easy-to-install unit

A special design protects sensitive sealing surfaces and springs from impurities, which helps improve sealing reliability and reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

Flygt Plug-in seals feature two independent mechanical seals mounted in a single, ready-to-install unit. Installation is simple and no special service tools are required; just place the Plug-in seal in position.

Plug-in seals with Active Seal technology have laser-cut spiral grooves in the seal face of the inner seal that pump liquid from the inner to the outer diameter of the seal ring to prevent liquid from entering the stator housing.

New design improvements

Metallurgy plays an important role in the life of Flygt seals. The seal housing is constructed of aluminum while the seal house bottom is stainless steel. This unique design helps increase the robustness of the seal housing and improve heat transfer, reducing the potential for melting due to high temperatures.

The specially designed seal house bottom holds the stationary outer seal in place and allows the outer stationary seal ring to stay unaffected by small movements caused by pressure changes in the oil housing. In addition, this design ensures that the stationary outer seal ring always follows the movements of the rotational outer seal ring and minimizes the risk for pumped media to enter.
